Since the beginning of 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic, compounded by a resurgence of protectionism, has wreaked havoc on the world economy. Global supply chains have been disrupted, investment and trade have been plunged into a vicious circle, and an increasing number of economies have slipped into recession. Confronted with this global shock, international coordination is needed more than ever.
Only through dialogue, consensus and cooperation can nations find anchors for peace and development in the face of an uncertain future. It is with this belief that China remains committed to deepening reforms, opening up wider, and promoting international cooperation in multiple areas. By accelerating the formation of the ‘dual circulation’ new development pattern, China seeks to make continuous contribution to global economic stability.
To better understand the profound changes the global economy is going through and explore new development opportunities, China Finance 40 Forum (CF40), along with partner institutions, have decided to hold the 2nd Bund Summit in October 2020. A non-governmental professional conference with global participation, the Summit invites senior policymakers, executives of leading financial institutions, and academic leaders to share their views on key global issues, build consensus on matters of mutual concern, promote cooperation, provide high-quality intellectual support for the building of an open world economy, and contribute to the development of Shanghai as an international financial center.
The Organizing Committee of the Bund Summit is chaired by Mr. Chen Yuan, Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of CF40 Executive Council. The Executive Chairman of the Organizing Committee is Mr. Tu Guangshao, Member of CF40 Executive Council and Chairman of the Executive Council of Shanghai Finance Institute.
Focused on financial liberalization, Fintech and asset management, the 2nd Bund Summit will convene in Shanghai on October 23-25, 2020.
